Delgado-McCollum Breaks Total Career Points Record
Horizon Honors High School Senior and Ahwatukee resident Stephen Delgado-McCollum broke the Horizon Honors Basketball record for total career points, ending the season with 1, 431 points. The previous record holder, Taylor Hudzinski, is now a teacher at Horizon Honors Schools! Delgado-McCollum was surprised at a pep rally in January with the news he had broken the record.

Horizon Honors Middle School Softball are League Champions!
The Horizon Honors Middle School Softball Team won the 2018-2019 Cactus Christian Schools League Championship earlier this week against Fountain Hills.

Horizon Honors High School Forms International Thespian Society
Horizon Honors High School in Ahwatukee initiated their first set of inductees into their newly formed International Thespian Society on December 5, 2018. The International Thespian Society (ITS) is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,700 affiliated secondary schools across America, Canada, and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts. ITS is a division of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA).

Horizon Honors Students Win International Art Contest

Horizon Honors Elementary School students Renata Galvan-Echavez (Grade 6, Age 11 from Chandler) and Chloe Tzompantzi (Grade 5, Age 10 from Chandler) have won an art contest sponsored by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IME). The 22nd Annual Children’s Drawing Contest “Este es mi México” prompted children to explore "Éste es mi México: History, traditions, gastronomy, beaches, music." Twelve winners were picked in total for their official 2019 calendar.

They received 11,836 total paintings and sent them all to Mexico City were there was a jury who picked the 12 winners
This is the first time ever that they picked paintings from Arizona 
The winners paintings are going on a tour around the world to all Mexican Embassies and will then be displayed at the largest Children Museum located in Mexico City.

Horizon Honors Schools Accepting Lottery Forms for 2019-2020 School Year
Horizon Honors Schools in Ahwatukee are now accepting lottery forms for the 2019-2020 school Year. Lottery Forms must be submitted online at by January 21, 2019.

In addition, info sessions and tours are available for prospective families. Reservations are required and available at 

Horizon Honors Schools is an organization of tuition-free, public, charter schools which provide continuous learning, K-12. Located in Ahwatukee, over 1,500 students from cities throughout the East Valley attend the schools. Both Horizon Honors Schools are graded "A" by the Arizona Department of Education.

Horizon Honors Schools Earn "A" Letter Grades
The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) released preliminary letter grades for all public schools on October 5. Once again, both Horizon Honors Elementary School and Horizon Honors Secondary School have earned a grade of “A!” 

The preliminary letter grades are based on calculations using the Arizona Department of Education’s currently adopted methodologies. More information on the Education A-F Accountability System can be found on the ADE website.
